Border stickers are a popular form of
embellishment amongst scrappers. They are generally placed
across the top or bottom of a page, or down one side. However,
just as this nature-themed layout shows, they can be just as
effective across the middle of your layout. |
|
The materials used in this layout are two
shades of green Bazzill cardstock, Autumn Leaves patterned
paper, KI Sand Linen paper and Pebbles Nature Border
stickers. |
|
This layout is rather simple to re-create.
The key is to select the appropriate patterned papers and cut
them to the right size. Begin by using your lighter shade of
Bazzil cardstock to create a thin matt for your photo and one of
your square stickers (I chose the leaf). Use the darker shade
for your background. |
|
The next step is to cut three rectangles from
your patterned paper. Begin with your focal paper - the paper
that will feature in the middle of your page (in my case, the
Autumn Leaves paper). A good size for this paper would be
approximately 18cm by 23.5cm. |
|
Once you have your focal paper, you can cut
two rectangles, one larger than the other, of your complementary
paper (in my case, the KI Sand Linen paper). Make sure you make
them big enough so they will tuck under your focal paper. I
recommend cutting them to approximately 17cm by 12cm and 12cm by
4cm. |
|
Once your papers are cut, position them on
your background cardstock and glue them in place. Make sure your
focal paper is positioned to the left of your page but
vertically centred. |
|
Place your border sticker across the middle
of your page, slightly higher than the vertical centre. I chose
the sticker that reads 'Journey' on the left, but if the sticker
you wish to use has the text on the right, you can easily create
a mirror version of this layout to suit it. |
|
Finally, adhere your photo and embellish with
your matted square sticker on the left and another sticker on
the right. |
