Tags are extremely versatile and are a great
form of embellishment. The following layout shows how to use
tags as a mat for your stickers and how to create a unique
border with them. |
|
This layout was created using pink patterned
paper, rusty orange patterned paper, green cardstock, blue
cardstock, green ink pad, blue ink pad, blue wool and Suzy's Zoo Friends
stickers. |
|
To create the background, use a small green
ink pad and dab it haphazardly all over the green cardstock. Set
it aside and allow it to dry. |
|
Next, cut five identical tags from your blue
cardstock. Dab them with a small blue ink pad to create a
similar effect to the one on your green background. Again, set
them aside to dry. |
|
While everything is drying, mat your photo on
blue cardstock and then pink paper. Instead of using straight
edges on the pink paper, try tearing them. You can add the
'Friends' stickers to the corners of your photo if you wish.
Also cut six small squares from your blue cardstock. Decorate
four of them with blue flower stickers from your sticker sheet
and two with white daisy stickers. Mat the blue flowers on pink
paper and the white flowers on rusty orange paper. Again, tear
the edges for added effect. |
|
When everything is dry, you can begin working
on your background page. To create the border, place a piece of torn pink paper across the bottom of
your page. Take the height of your tags into consideration when
choosing the height of your pink paper. Place a strip of rusty orange paper
on top. Its height should be about a third of the height of the
pink strip. |
|
Punch a hole in the top of each tag and
thread your blue wool fibre through. Adhere one character
sticker to each tag and arrange across your border. Position the
rest of your page elements and glue down. |
|
Tags don't always have to be complicated to
be effective. The tags on this layout are extremely simple to
make and yet by arranging them as a border across the bottom of
the page, we end up with a well co-ordinated and well structured
page. This concept can be adapted to any theme. Why not give it
a go and see what you come up with! |
