Quick Scrapbook Page Ideas

Part 27

I don't know about you, but
finding enough time to scrap is always a challenge
for me, especially with the Christmas holidays
coming. So with this page I have focused on
creating a stunning but fast page. The reason
this page works so well is the use of bright,
bold colours. By using colours like bright red
and deep purple, my page needs less embellishing.
It already has a lot of contrast and a lot to
capture your attention so a few simple embellishments
are all that is needed.

This layout was created
using Bazzill red cardstock, Daisy D's Purple
Stripes paper, brown cardstock, white cardstock,
Basic Grey Flourishes Rub-Ons and
NRN Designs Asian Text stickers.

|
To recreate this scrapbook
page idea, follow these steps:
|
|
1. Use your red Bazzill cardstock for
the background.
|
|
2. Cut a piece of Daisy D's
Purple Stripes paper approximately 11cm tall.
Adhere it across your page approximately 1.5cm
from the bottom edge.
|
|
3. Take the right-hand border
sticker from your
NRN Designs Asian Text stickers. Cut
a piece approximately 6cm tall from the bottom
of the sticker. Adhere it vertically on your
page so that it touches the bottom edge and
is approximately 5cm from the right edge.
|
|
4. Using the same border
sticker, cut a piece approximately 16cm tall
from the top of the sticker (this will leave
you with a small piece left over - put that
aside). Adhere the 16cm piece vertically on
your page so that it touches the top edge and
is approximately 5cm from the right edge.
|
|
5. Adhere a 3x4 photo towards
the bottom right corner of your page. It should
be centred on your vertical sticker, be approximately
5.5cm from the bottom edge and cover the break
between your two stickers.
|
|
6. Adhere a horizontal 4x6
photo next to and inline with the 3x4. Make
sure you leave a small gap between them (perhaps
1cm).
|
|
7. Adhere another horizontal
4x6 photo above the previous one, leaving about
1cm in between them.
|
|
8. Mat 4 large round stickers
and 7 small round stickers with brown cardstock.
|
|
9. Use 2 of your large round
stickers and 5 small round stickers to decorate
your border sticker, as shown in the layout
above.
|
|
10. Take the small piece
of border sticker you had previously put away
and cut it into three different sized pieces.
I have cut mine so the largest features 2 characters
and retains its width. The other two pieces
feature only one character and I have trimmed
them to a smaller width. Place them on white
cardstock and cut them out (gives them a little
more dimension).
|
|
11. Arrange your remaining
round stickers and the pieces you have just
made from your border sticker in the bottom
left corner of your page, as shown in the layout
above. |
|
12. Finally, place a flourish
rub-on around the top left corner of the top
photo. If you don't have a rub-on, you may like
to doodle some swirls or make a large photo-corner
from black cardstock.
