The key to including many photos in the one
layout is to keep things simple and avoid clutter. Don't use
over-powering colours or very busy patterned papers. There will
only distract from your photos. Instead, keep your patterns and
embellishments simple and let your photos take the limelight.

|
Begin by cutting your photos to size. I
printed most of my photos at half size (2x3 inches) to make it
easier to fit more on a page. I also kept most of them at
approximately the same size to help maintain some balance.
|
|
Let's begin with the page on the left. To
create this page, cut a strip of Northern Star paper and place
it down the left-hand side of your page. Choose the two photos
you would like to emphasize most and arrange them one above the
other at the top of this strip. Arrange another four photos on
the rest of the page as shown. |
|
To create the title, cut a rectangle of tan
cardstock. Adhere your letter stickers on top. If you wish, you
can combine two different alphabets as I have done. I used Sandylion Heritage
Alphabet stickers for the two main words of the
title (Christmas and Penrith) and Beary Patch Tea-Dyed Mini Alphabet
stickers for the joining word (at). When you are
done, mat your title on Vintage Christmas paper and adhere to
your background. We will leave the Christmas stickers until
last. |
|
Choose one photo for your focal point on the
right page. Mat is on tan cardstock and then Northern Star
paper. Place it towards the top left-hand corner of the page.
|
|
Next, select the four photos which will form
the border along the bottom of your page. The four I chose tell
the story of my nephew opening his Christmas gift, but yours do
not have to be sequential. Cut a strip of Vintage Christmas
paper to go across your page and arrange the four photos next to
each other on it. |
|
Next, use your brown pen to journal on strips
of tan cardstock. Adhere your journal blocks and remaining photo
to your background. |
|
Finally, embellish your page with your Provo
Craft Season of Giving stickers. You may wish to mat them on
white cardstock first, as I have done. They are vellum stickers
so having the white background helps to give them more colour.
It is, however, a matter of personal choice. |
