As most of you know by now
I love playing with patterned papers and most of the time I
create stream-lined pages. I love straight lines, parallel
elements and balance. This week I am sticking with the
straight-lined approach but I've spiced it up a little with
angles. By using the same techniques with a spin you can add a
fresh look to your pages! |
|
Lightly ink the edges of the Cashmere paper
with dark brown ink and set aside to use as your background. |
|
Cut a piece of Brocade paper measuring
approximately 17.5cm by 15cm. Measure 1.5cm to the left of the
bottom right corner. Cut from this mark to the top right corner
to create an angled edge. Ink the edges with brown ink. When
dry, adhere to the right side of your background approximately
8cm from the bottom. |

Cut a piece of Brocade paper measuring
approximately 8cm by 15cm. Measure 1.5cm to the right of the top
left corner. Cut from this mark to the bottom left corner to
create an angled edge. Ink the edges with brown ink. When dry,
adhere to the left side of your background approximately 7.5cm
from the bottom. |
|
Cut a piece of tan cardstock measuring
approximately 21.5cm by 19cm. Ink the edges with brown ink.
Adhere to your page as shown in the layout above. Remember to
keep this piece parallel with the Brocade pieces you have
already done. |
|
Adhere a vertical 4x6 photo in the bottom
left corner of the tan cardstock and another in the top right
corner. |
|
Cut a strip of blue cardstock to fill the gap
above the first photo. Adhere as shown in the layout above. Cut
a second strip to fill the gap below the second photo, as shown
in the layout above. Take care to ensure the strip will reach
all the way to the edge of the background paper. |
|
Use round alphabet stickers to add your title
along the top blue strip. If possible, overlap some of the title
with your second photo. Place the cat sitting sticker behind one
of your letters and embellish the other letters with small
stickers like the hearts and stars. |
|
Select the small brown tag
from the Basic
Grey Urban Couture Tag cut-outs and ink the edges with
brown ink. Thread a piece of thick brown ribbon through the
hole. Adhere the tag in the bottom right corner of your second
photo so that it overlaps the blue strip. Place a sleeping cat
sticker in the middle of the tag and attach a blue brad as shown
in the layout above. |
|
Add a standing cat sticker and a cat bowl
sticker to the bottom left corner of the first photo. |
|
Cut two large corners from tan
cardstock. Ink the edges with brown ink. Also use your ink pad
to dab ink all over the corner to create the look shown in the
layout above. When dry, adhere one in the top right corner of
your page and the other in the bottom left corner. |
|
Finally, add journaling to the
second blue strip and embellish with any extra stickers.
