Sassafras Lass paper collections work so well
together! Just including several patterns on the one page helps
make your page a work of art. This layout shows how the
successful combination of patterns as well as using your papers
as embellishments can give your work a unique spark. |
|
This layout was created using five papers
from the Sassafras Lass Sew Fine collection (Sew Fine
Penelope Paper, Sew Fine Lois Paper, Sew Fine Tilly Paper, Sew
Fine Lillian Paper and Sew Fine Emiline Paper), blue Bazzil
cardstock, corner rounder, blue ink, three white brads and blue
ribbon. |
|
Set
aside the blue Bazzil cardstock for your background. |
|
Cut a semi-circle of Sew Fine Lillian
Paper with a diameter measuring
approximately 15cm. Ink the edges with blue ink and adhere
towards the top right corner of your page, as shown in the
layout above. |
|
Cut a piece of Sew Fine Penelope Paper
measuring
approximately 7cm x 28cm. Round the two corners at the left side
of the strip and ink around the edges with blue ink. |
|
Cut a piece of Sew Fine Lois Paper measuring
approximately 7cm x 21cm. Round the two corners at the left side
of the strip and ink around the edges with blue ink. |
|
Cut a piece of Sew Fine Tilly Paper measuring
approximately 7cm x 25cm. Round the two corners at the left side
of the strip and ink around the edges with blue ink. |
|
Align your strip of Tilly paper towards the
top of your page so that it slightly overlaps your semi-circle.
The right edge of your strip should be right up against the
right edge of your page. Adhere in place. Adhere your strip of
Lois paper directly underneath it, again so the right edge is up
against the right edge of your page. Finally, adhere your strip
of Penelope paper directly below that and up against the right
edge of your page. |
|
Cut a circle of Sew Fine Lois Paper
with a diameter of approximately 6cm and ink around the edges
with blue ink. Position on your layout so it overlaps both the
left side of your semi-circle and your strip of Tilly paper. |
|
Position your photo on the right side of your
page so that it overlaps all three strips of patterned papers
and your semi-circle. Make sure you leave enough room at the
bottom of your page for your title though. |
|
Cut out your vine from Sew Fine Emiline
Paper and adhere to the bottom left of your page. This is a
time-consuming endeavour, but the end effect is well worth the
effort! I have cut out one of the main shapes and then added a
small extra piece of vine to give it extra height. How much you
add to your page is up to you! |
|
Add three white brads to the top right of
your page, as shown above. These serve to balance out the busy
effects of the vine in the bottom left of your page. |
|
Next, cut the letters for your title from Sew
Fine Lillian Paper and ink the edges with blue ink. Tie a
piece of blue ribbon to the first letter of your title. Finally,
adhere your title across the bottom of your page. |
