Paper distressing
is an effective way to add texture to your page.
In the layout below, I have combined this technique
with inking to create a worn appearance which
balances well with the colours featured.

To recreate this scrapbook
page idea, follow these steps:
|
|
1. Use the lighter shade
of brown cardstock as your background.
|
|
3. Start with the larger
piece of
Scenic Route Newport Pink Daisies paper.
Run the edge of your scissors or sand paper
around all the edges to scratch away some of
the pattern and expose the white core of the
paper. Tear small pieces out of the paper (one
or two per side) to help give an aged appearance.
Lightly ink the edges with brown ink. If you
wish, run your scissors or sand paper over the
edges again. Centre on your page and adhere.
|
|
4. Take the smaller piece
of
Scenic Route Newport Pink Daisies paper.
Turn it over to the striped side. Again, run
your scissors or sandpaper over the edges to
expose the white core. Lightly ink the edges
with brown ink. If you wish, run your scissors
or sand paper over the edges again. Adhere the
strip horizontally about 2.2cm from the bottom
edge.
|
|
5. Select three photos and
crop. Arrange them one above the other down
the right side of your page, as shown in the
layout above.
|
|
6. Cut your title from dark
brown cardstock. Glue in the top left corner
of your page.
|
|
7. Use your small circle
punch to make a collection of small circles
from dark brown cardstock. Arrange in three
semi-circles as shown in the layout above -
a small one towards the top right corner, a
medium one in middle of the left side and a
large one in the bottom right corner.
|
|
8. Finally, cut a collection
of pink blossoms from
Chatterbox Nook Orchard Blossom paper.
Outline the edges with a brown pen to help them
stand out and glue around your page, as shown
in the layout above.
