Mini albums are a great way to record those
precious memories in a short space of time. They are also great
gifts. This mini album was made to celebrate the birth of a
friend's baby boy. It's format can be adapted to suit any theme.
A great project you can finish in a day!

|
Begin by cutting your blue cardstock into six
pieces, each measuring 6" by 12". Fold each piece in
half to create 6" x 6" pages. Lay the sheets inside
each other to create a book. The number of pages you wish to
include is up to you, but keep in mind that once your pages are
decorated, your book becomes quite thick. I would advise against
using any more pages than I have. |
|
Close the book. You will notice that the
edges of each page, particularly those in the middle tend to
stick out a bit. Use a craft knife and a metal ruler to trim
them back so the edges are all even when the book is closed. |
|
I recommend decorating your pages before
binding the book. This will make it much easier to work with. I
recommend planning your pages before you get started as you
cannot freely move the pages around. You can use any papers and
embellishments that suit your theme. If you are giving this
album to a non-scrapbooker with no photos inside, try to make it
as easy as possible for them to be able to add their own photos.
They may not want to go to the effort of trimming their photos
for inclusion in your album. Here are a couple of sample pages
to get you going: |
|
Now that you have decorated your pages, it is
time to bind them together. Put all the pages into place and lie
them flat so that the middle page is open and looking up at you.
Create two holes in the spine of the book. Make sure they pass
all the way through your book. Thread your ribbon through and
tie on the front at side. And vola! A gorgeous mini album to
keep or give someone special. |
