Sometimes your title can make or break your
page. This layout demonstrates a creative way to make an
impression with your title every time.
|
|
To recreate this layout you will need brown
textured cardstock, leaf green cardstock, light brown cardstock, Creative
Imaginations Purple Woodgrain paper, K & Company Script
& Seals paper, tan vellum, brown ink, a brown pen and Pebbles
Inc Family Tree stickers. |
|
Use
the textured brown cardstock as your background. Cut a strip of
Purple Woodgrain paper about 15cm wide and adhere down the
left-hand side of your page leaving a gap of about 2.5cm. Now
cut a piece of leaf green cardstock measuring approximately
16.5cm by 24.5cm. Adhere on the right side of you page, as shown
above. Make sure you leave a gap
of about 1.5cm down the right side of your page. You have now
completed your background. |
|
Mat
both your photos with light
brown cardstock and ink the edges. I have made the border around
the larger photo slightly larger than the border for the other
photo to give it more emphasis. It is up to your discretion
whether or not you also wish to do this. |
|
Adhere
your smaller photo to the top left of your page, as shown in the
layout. It should primarily be on the Purple Woodgrain paper,
but also overlap onto the leaf green cardstock.
|
|
Adhere
your larger photo to the bottom right of the page, as shown in
the layout. Position it primarily on the leaf green cardstock,
but allow it to overhang onto your textured brown background a
little. Make sure you also leave plenty of room below it for a
page accent. Your page now has a sense of balance. |
|
It
is now time to make your title. To create your title you may
wish to use an alphabet template or your computer. Select a font
and transfer the outline of each letter to your K & Company
Script & Seals paper. Cut out each letter carefully and ink
the edges. Make sure you also ink the inside edges like the
middle of the letter 'a'. |
|
Use
the same technique to cut out two hearts, one smaller than the
other, and ink the edges. |
|
Position your letters so that the first
overlaps your small photo. Continue your title to the left
across your page. To add interest, do not use a perfectly
straight line. Instead, elevate some letters higher than others.
Also place your small heart behind one letter for a unique
effect. |
|
Use the large tag sticker for your journaling
block. Trim the top off to make it rectangular. Use your brown
pen to journal on tan vellum. Make sure you leave space at the
bottom to overlap your other heart. Once the ink is dry, adhere
the vellum to the sticker and position your sticker on your
page, centring it in the remaining purple space, as shown in the
layout. Once in place, adhere your remaining heart so that it
overlaps your journaling block, your purple woodgrain paper and
the brown background. |
|
Finally, it is time to add your final
accents. Position two of your square leaf stickers in the top
right-hand corner of your page so they overlap both your green
cardstock and brown cardstock background. These provide a
balance for your journaling block. |
|
The strip at the bottom right of the page was cut
from one of your Pebbles
Inc Family Tree stickers. Trim
the brown stripes away and cut the remaining green strip to
size. Adhere in place with the brown button on the left.
