Sometimes the best way to enhance your layout
is with the use of sophisticated frames. Here we will explore
some of the options available to you with Suzy's Zoo stickers. |
|
Many of the Suzy's Zoo stickers come
with their own sticker frames. This is the easiest way
of adding a unique look to your page. However, there is
so much more you can do! |
|
If you are making your own frame, the
easiest way is to use a standard two or three layer matt
and add stickers to the corners or side. This frame was
made using Suzy's Zoo Sally Floral stickers. Each
sticker was placed on cardstock and then cut out using
scissors and a craft knife. They were then layered on
top of each other (in the case of the flowers) and
attached to the frame. The cardstock adds dimension to
your page and prevents creases forming from the layers
underneath. |

This frame took a little longer to
make than the one above but follows the same design
principles. To make it, I cut a piece of cardstock to
the size I wanted and removed the middle leaving a frame
about 2.5cm wide. I then cut the blue paper into three
strips around 4cm wide. Four pieces about 2.5cm by 4cm
were torn off one strip and the rest were torn into
smaller pieces (1-1.5cm by 4cm). Tearing creates the
white edge you see around the frame. Only one of the
wider edges of each piece needs this line. The other
will be covered. |
|
|
One of the wider strips was then glued
diagonally to the bottom left-hand corner and the overhanging
edges folded underneath. I then glued a regular strip to the
right of the corner strip, overlapping it slightly and folding
the overlapping edges underneath. When doing this, make sure the
strip is placed vertically and that the white edge is on the
left. I repeated this process all the way around the frame
substituting the wider strips when I reached each corner. I then
used the Suzy's Zoo Polly in Garden stickers in the
corners to enhance and add character to the frame. |
|
The importance of frames in scrapbooking
sometimes gets overlooked. We get so enthralled by all the other
things we can do with our layouts that we just matt our photos
the standard way and put our efforts into other elements of the
page. I strongly encourage you to explore the versatility of
frames and enhancing them with stickers such as those from the
Suzy's Zoo range. The possibilities are endless and
only limited by your imagination. |
