A tag can be a great centrepiece for any
card. It is a very easy, yet incredibly effective way to dress
up a card for a loved one. Here we will look at one way of doing
just that. |
|
To create this card you will need cream, tan
and white cardstock, striped paper, Hot Off The Press Lace
paper, a teddy bear stamp, brown ink pad, light brown eyelash
fibre, foam tape and Suzy's Zoo Birthday Bear stickers. |
|
Begin by making your card from cream
cardstock. This is your canvas. |
|
Cut a rectangle of tan cardstock slightly
smaller than the face of your card. Attach it to the front of
your card, leaving an outline of cream around the edges. Using
your teddy bear stamp and brown ink pad, stamp your bear images
haphazardly all over the tan cardstock. Set it aside to dry. |
|
While you wait for it to dry, create your
tag. Cut a tag from your striped paper. You may use a template
for this or simply cut a rectangle and cut off the corners from
one side. Mat your tag on white cardstock. Punch a small hole in
the top and thread your fibre through. |
|
Begin decorating your tag but tearing a small
strip of lace paper and wrapping it around your tag. Angle it
for added interest. Place your birthday bear sticker on top,
using the base line of the lace paper as a guideline for your
placement of the sticker. Place your hug sticker underneath at
the same angle but more to the right. Finally, use foam tape to
adhere your Happy Birthday sticker. By using foam tape you not
only add dimension to your card, but you draw attention to the
message you wish to convey to the receiver. |
|
Once you are happy with your tag and the ink has
dried, attach your tag to the front of your card. Angle the tag
so that your birthday bear sticker is parallel with the bottom
edge of your card. You now have a gorgeous card to give to
someone special. |
