Scrapbooking borders
used towards the bottom of your page grounds
your page and gives it a sense of balance. I
love using scrapbooking border stickers to create
this effect, but sometimes its fun to create
your own border. In the layout below, I have
used some cardstock and some bright stickers
to create an original border that's both easy
and fun.

To recreate this scrapbook
page idea, follow these steps:
|
|
1. Cut a piece of Provo Craft Blue Swirls
paper measuring approximately 29.5cm by 29.5cm.
Ink the edges with blue ink and when dry, mat
on a 12x12 sheet of bright blue cardstock to
create your background.
|
|
2. Cut a piece of Doodlebug
Seaglass Stripe paper measuring approximately
10.5cm by 19.5cm. Ink the edges with blue ink
and when dry, glue vertically to your background
approximately 4cm from the top edge and 2cm
from the left edge.
|
|
3. Cut a piece of
NRN Designs Summer Garden paper measuring
approximately 22.5cm by 17.5cm. Ink the edges
with blue ink and when dry, glue horizontally
to your background approximately 8cm from the
top edge and 2.3cm from the left edge. It will
overlap your Seaglass Stripe paper.
|
|
4. Cut a piece of Creative
Imaginations Striped paper measuring approximately
2.5cm by 13cm. Ink the edges with blue ink and
when dry, glue vertically to your background
approximately 11cm from the top edge and 4.5cm
from the left edge. It will overlap both your
Seaglass Stripe and Summer Garden papers.
|
|
5. Mat your photo with white
cardstock and then again with light green cardstock.
Glue within the Summer Garden paper approximately
9.5cm from the top of your page and 4.5cm from
the right edge of your page.
|
|
6. Using the waves on your
sheet of
American Traditional Shiny Fish Swimming
stickers as inspiration, cut a curvy piece of
white cardstock (see layout above). I recommend
drawing your curve before cutting it out. It
does not have to be perfect. It just has to
follow a wave-like shape. Use blue ink (or blue
chalk if you prefer) to add some colour to the
centre of your wave.
|
|
7. Mat your white wave with
bright blue cardstock. Make sure you also cut
it out in a wave-like shape too. Again, it does
not have to be perfect. If you have trouble,
remember to look at both the layout above and
the waves on your sheet of
American Traditional Shiny Fish Swimming
stickers for an idea of the shape.
|
|
8. Glue your wave across
the bottom of your page. The lowest point should
be approximately 3cm from the bottom edge of
your page. Make sure your wave covers the bottom
edges of your Seaglass Stripe, Summer Garden
and Creative Imaginations Striped papers.
|
|
9. Choose a selection of
fish all swimming the same direction and place
them on your wave, as shown in the layout above.
|
|
8. Finally, select two more
fish stickers and place just above the top right
corner of your photo, as shown in the layout
above.
