Chris shows us how easy it
is to make an altered CDs. They are great as
gifts in themselves or as embellishments for
your layouts.
|
|
To create an altered CD,
you will need a CD, sandpaper, patterned paper,
acrylic paint, ink pads, ribbon, ribbon charms,
stickers, rub-ons, chalk and anything else you
wish to use to embellish your CD.
|
|
Begin by lightly sanding
the top of the CD so the paint can adhere to
it, and clean the CD once done. Paint your CD
with two coats of paint allowing drying time
in-between. At this stage you may also wish
to try different effects like crackling etc.
Leave the CD as is, with no further decorating.
|
|
Using a CD as a template,
trace and cut around your paper of choice (I
cut inside the line as this way it will fit
perfectly). You may chose to use vellum to allow
the paint to show through if desired.
|
|
Using spray adhesive or acid
free glue (I would not recommend a glue stick
here as you need something stronger), stick
your paper onto the CD. With the CD shown here
I have cut my paper into pieces and inked around
the edges of each piece, then stuck them down.
Now, you may decorate as desired.
|
|
Now for the inside front
cover of your CD. Use a new cover and use the
existing label as your template. Decorate as
desired.
